A new year means a new knitting bucket list. I have been craving some basic pullovers in my wardrobe and aspire to knit a lot (four-ish?) sweaters and tees this year. They suit my new climate.
Aside from my prolific sweater ambitions (my current favorites constituting my bucket list are below), I always have a shawl design and a pair of socks on my needles. Some things never change.
In years past, I have aspired to learn new techniques. 2016 led me to color work. Brioche was on the list for 2017 (I only half-checked that box). I don’t have any burning desires to expand my technique repertoire this year (no steeking for me, thank you very much). Instead, I plan to focus my year on learning to dye yarn and experiment with color. (Big announcements coming soon…stay posted!)
The pullovers on my list for 2018 are all fairly established designs. This does cause me to hesitate only so slightly. I always aim to support the underdog and would love to hear about some less popular patterns from other up-and-coming designers. Do share if you have any on your list you think I might like. I am particularly on the hunt for designs that call for fingering weight yarns.
I have big hopes for 2018, both in knitting and in life and am curious to see where I will stand one year from now. In the end, only time will tell. Until then, I plan to stitch with intention and love. All year long. And I just might end up with a few new sweaters.
